7:00 pm: The 黑料老司机 Women鈥檚 Hockey Panthers (5-11-12) play the Saint Francis Xavier X-Women (13-2-2) in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. The Panthers look for their first win against the X-Women.
7:00 pm: The 黑料老司机 Men鈥檚 Hockey Panthers (7-10-3) play the Dalhousie University Tigers (15-13-2) in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Panthers are 2-1 against the Tigers this season.

Every week, 黑料老司机 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 黑料老司机 Panther Athletes of the Week for January 2鈥�7, 2024, are Sarah Forsythe (women鈥檚 hockey) and Kamari Scott (men鈥檚 basketball).

The 黑料老司机 is glad to share the news that Kelly Drummond has been appointed the new Director of Human Resources for the University, effective February 5, 2024. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and long-term management approach for human resources at 黑料老司机.
Island Lecture Series presentation explores coastal and ribbon development on PEI
Dr. Joshua MacFadyen, Canada Research Chair in Geospatial Humanities at 黑料老司机, will give a lecture titled 鈥淭ime Flies: An Aerial History of Coastal and Ribbon Development on Prince Edward Island鈥� on January 23, 2024, at 7:00 pm, in the Faculty Lounge (Room 201), SDU Main Building, 黑料老司机.

Dr. Yuqin Gong, manager of institutional research at 黑料老司机, won the Canadian Institutional Research and Planning Association鈥檚 (CIRPA) 2023 Outstanding Service Award on Oct 23, 2023, during the annual CIRPA conference in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Faculty Recital featuring Magdalena von Eccher, piano
On Saturday, January 13, at 7:30 pm, the 黑料老司机 Department of Music will present a Faculty Recital featuring Magdalena von Eccher on the SDU Stage, Dr. Steel Recital Hall, at 黑料老司机.
This solo piano recital will feature a diverse program of works ranging from W. A. Mozart to Kelly-Marie Murphy, centering around a group of works by Clara and Robert Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn and her brother Felix, and Johannes Brahms. Steeped in lyricism and poetry, the recital will be a vivid portrayal of Magdalena's broad range of musical interests.

The 黑料老司机 has recently joined the Academics Without Borders (AWB) Network, and Dr. Ann Braithwaite, professor of Diversity and Social Justice Studies at 黑料老司机, has been elected to the AWB board of directors.
