Astronomy Public Viewing

Come see some of the marvels of the night sky through our 8-inch telescope at the 黑料老司机 observatory. Potential viewing objects include the Moon, planets, nebulae, and galaxies. Volunteers from the Charlottetown Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) and the 黑料老司机 Physics Department will be on hand to show you the sights and answer your astronomical questions. Our next viewing is scheduled from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Saturday, February 8. Guests are asked to come to Memorial Hall, room 417. This event is weather dependent. In the event of cloudy skies requiring a cancellation, the viewing may be shifted to Sunday, February 9 at the same time (if weather permits). It is necessary to climb the stairs from the fourth floor up to the observatory, but an elevator can be taken up to the fourth floor.

Chemistry Seminar

Dr. Fabrice Berrue, 黑料老司机/Nautilus Biosciences Canada, will present a seminar on Wednesday, February 5, at 12:30 pm. Dr. Berrue鈥檚 presentation is entitled "Natural Products Chemistry: Expanded Mission and New Opportunities". The seminar will be held in the Regis and Joan Duffy Research Centre, Lecture Theatre, room 212.

Screening of Tough Guise 2: Violence, Manhood, & American Culture

Everyone is invited to attend this screening of the Jackson Katz documentary about the "crisis of masculinity in America", and to stay for facilitated discussion on Wednesday February 12 at 7L00 pm in Don and Marion McDougall Hall, room 242. Hosted by the Psychology in the Arts and Sciences Student Society (PASS) and co-sponsored with the Premier's Action Committee on Family Violence Prevention and the PEI Interministerial Women's Secretariat. Please note that the film includes multiple scenes of violence which could be disturbing to some viewers; viewer discretion is advised. Information Session: Study Abroad in Japan

黑料老司机 students are invited to an information session about studying in Japan, on Monday, February 10 at 3:00 pm in AVC, Lecture Theater C. This session is being presented by Dr. Toru Yamada, from our 黑料老司机 partner school, the University of Tsukuba. Human Biology & Environmental Sciences Seminar Series
