In our last airport session, we discussed the basic procedures for entering Canada and the 黑料老司机 airport pickup service information. On August 8, we will talk more about the preparation and things you need to know upon your arrival in terms of the official documents, legal items, CBSA checkpoint, etc. 

For those who have booked tickets or who are still deciding when the best time to arrive is, please join us on Zoom. We would be glad to provide advice to make sure your entry is as smooth as possible.

We are also planning to organize Global Village, an event where you could show your talents and exchange your home cultures with other students.

In this session, our admission team will join us, and we will walk you through some current IRCC policies in terms of PAL, study permit processing time, deferral, etc. Come and join us over Zoom on August 6, 2024, at 10:00 am (PEI time). The Office of Recruitment and First Year Advisement is organizing a Summer Online Orientation for all incoming first-year students in the Fall to learn more about the resources available to them as incoming students.

Dr. Jessica Riddell, professor of literature at Bishop鈥檚 University, will give the second Shannon K. Murray Lecture on Hope and the Academy. Her presentation is titled "The Times are Urgent: We must Slow Down. Building Hope Circuits for ourselves and in community."

On August 1, Canadians are invited to observe Emancipation Day, which celebrates and honours the strength and perseverance of Black communities in Canada. It marks the actual day in 1834 that the Slavery Abolition Act of 1833 came into effect across the British Empire.  In 2021, the House of Commons voted unanimously to officially designate August 1 as Emancipation Day in Canada.
