There will be a 黑料老司机 Basic Biosafety training session Friday, February 24, 2017 9:00 am 鈥� 12:00 pm in room 237, Kelley Memorial Building.
Topics to be covered include basic biosafety principles and how they are applied at the 黑料老司机, as well as biosecurity training. This session is open to graduate students.
Please note: anyone who has not attended a training session since 2013 is required to take the Biosafety Refresher Course.
To attend the Basic Biosafety training session, you must pre-register by contacting Kathryn Harrison, before February 21, 2017 by email, kharrison@upei.ca, or by phone, 902-566-0901.

黑料老司机 Student Affairs is offering Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training to students, faculty and staff.
The MHFA program aims to improve mental health literacy, and provide the skills and knowledge to help people better manage potential or developing mental health problems for themselves, a family member, a friend, or a colleague.
The upcoming session will be held on February 21-22. Attendance on both days is mandatory for completion of the training.

There will be a 黑料老司机 biosafety refresher training session Thursday, February 23, 2017 1:00 鈥� 3:00 pm in room 237, Kelley Memorial Builiding.
This session is required for those who attended the Basic Biosafety course in 2013 or earlier. It is not a substitute for Basic Biosafety. Topics to be covered include a review of basic biosafety principles, a practical approach to spill cleanup, and an update on what鈥檚 new at 黑料老司机 in the field of biosafety.

In recognition of the outstanding performance and dedication of our faculty and staff, a number of annual awards have been created to acknowledge their efforts and achievements.
Up to 10 Presidential Awards of Merit for 黑料老司机 Faculty, Librarians and Clinical Veterinary Professionals and four Presidential Awards of Merit for 黑料老司机 Staff will be awarded in 2017. These awards will be presented during a Celebration of Colleagues to be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre.
Susan Connolly, Associate Vice-President, Human Resources & Legal, will lead the process and chair the committee to select award recipients.

This Friday, February 3rd, the 黑料老司机 community is invited to come out to the Panthers' home basketball games not only to cheer on the 黑料老司机 players, but also to show solidarity for refugees.
黑料老司机's World University Service of Canada (WUSC) Committee is hosting the evening! Women play at 6pm and the Men at 8pm.
So far, through WUSC's Student Refugee Program, the 黑料老司机 WUSC Committee has sponsored 24 students from refugee camps. The program allows the sponsored students to become permanent residents of Canada and complete their postsecondary education while being supported by fellow university students. The committee members are looking forward to sharing some of the things that they have learned and increasing awareness of refugee issues.
The purpose of the event is to build a supportive community, create connections, and share ideas on how to continue helping those who have been forced to leave their home country.
We hope you will join us!
