Student Laboratory Assistants - Spanish & French Language Labs and French Conversation Sessions - Department of Modern Languages - Faculty of Arts
$16.00 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay

The Department of Modern Languages at the ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú invites applications for part-time student positions for Fall and Winter semesters 2025-2026. We are seeking students with competency in French and Spanish to run our Spanish Labs (for Spanish 1010 and 1020), French labs (for French 1210 and French 1220), as well as upper-level students in French to run French Conversation sessions for our lower-level French courses (French 2210 and French 2220).
Please note that both the Labs and Conversation sessions are to be conducted in person.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Attending training and orientation sessions
• Assisting professors in language lab learning activities for beginners and proctoring virtual lab work.
• With the aid of a marking template, scanning assignments to provide feedback on preliminary grade recommendations.
• For French Conversation classes, planning activities which encourage oral skill development and student participation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Spanish labs: preference will be given to students completing a major or minor in Spanish and/or who demonstrate a high level of competency with the Spanish language.
• French labs and Conversation: preference will be given to students completing a major or minor in French and/or who demonstrate a high level of competency with the French language.
Priority will be given to ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
TERM: September 3, 2025 – April 30, 2026
HOURS: Up to 10 hours per week
SALARY: $16.00 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
