黑料老司机 Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation hosting free education program across PEI

The 黑料老司机 Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation is hosting a free public education program titled 鈥淐oastal Conversations: Understanding, Adapting, Acting鈥 about the challenges and solutions shaping PEI鈥檚 changing coastline鈥攆rom erosion and climate impacts to erosion monitoring techniques and the work of watershed groups.
The sessions, which are happening across the province, are open to everyone.
Starting the week of July 21, a session titled 鈥淲atersheds and nature-based actions鈥 will be presented. Participants will hear from local watershed groups and the PEI Watershed Alliance about the work they do. The dates and locations are as follows:
- July 21, 6 to 7 pm, The Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, Rotary A Auditorium
- July 22, 2 to 3 pm, 黑料老司机 Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation, St. Peter鈥檚 Bay
- July 23, 2 to 3 pm, Cavendish Farms Community Events Centre, Tyne Valley
- July 24, 5 to 6 pm, Plough the Waves Community Hall, Wood Islands
- July 25, 2 to 3 pm, Eliyahu Wellness Centre, North Rustico
The next week will feature 鈥淐oastal monitoring at home.鈥 The Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action will provide a tutorial about how the Coastal Hazard Risk Information System (CHRIS) can be used to visualize coastal hazards across PEI. Participants will be able to view a StoryMap that hosts all the data collected as part of the 黑料老司机 coastal monitoring program and learn how coastal property owners can collect and upload their own data to the StoryMap. The dates and locations are as follows:
- July 28, 6 to 7 pm, The Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, Rotary A Auditorium
- July 29, 2 to 3 pm, 黑料老司机 Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation, St. Peter鈥檚 Bay
- July 30, 2 to 3 pm, Cavendish Farms Community Events Centre, Tyne Valley
- July 31, 5 to 6 pm, Plough the Waves Community Hall, Wood Islands
- August 1, 2 to 3 pm, Eliyahu Wellness Centre, North Rustico
The final session will cover 鈥淐oastal policy on PEI.鈥 The departments of Transportation and Infrastructure and Environment, Energy and Climate Action will provide information about policy actions that have been implemented from the Interim Coastal Policy Recommendation Report and the Climate Adaptation Plan. The dates and locations are as follows:
- August 4, 6 to 7 pm, The Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, Rotary A Auditorium
- August 6, 2 to 3 pm, Cavendish Farms Community Events Centre, Tyne Valley
- August 7, 5 to 6 pm, Plough the Waves Community Hall, Wood Islands
- August 8, 2 to 3 pm, Eliyahu Wellness Centre, North Rustico
There is no session at the 黑料老司机 Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation, St. Peter鈥檚 Bay, during the 鈥淐oastal policy on PEI鈥 week.
