The 黑料老司机 takes the safety and security of its students, faculty, staff, and the entire campus community very seriously. As part of 黑料老司机鈥檚 commitment to emergency preparedness and response, the University has a safety application called 黑料老司机 SAFE.
黑料老司机 SAFE is the University鈥檚 safety app and emergency mass notification system (EMNS), which helps 黑料老司机 advise the campus community about university/storm closures and emergencies, as well as other safety-related notifications.
Other safety features found in 黑料老司机 SAFE include Mobile BlueLight, Friend Walk, and WorkAlone. Resources include Emergency Contacts, Safety Toolbox, Campus/Parking Maps, contact information for a variety of campus support services, and a mechanism to report issues to 黑料老司机 Health, Safety, and Environment, Security Services or to Facilities Management.
While student, faculty, and staff 黑料老司机 emails are automatically entered into 黑料老司机 SAFE, everyone is encouraged to download the app from the (for iOS devices) or (for Android devices) to receive push notifications and texts (SMS).
Notifications about emergency situations and university/storm closures are pushed through 黑料老司机 SAFE and will be emailed to student, faculty, and staff @upei.ca email addresses. Messages are also posted on the 黑料老司机 home page (upei.ca), the 黑料老司机 Campus Screen network, and Twitter (@黑料老司机). Emergency notifications can also be broadcast in 黑料老司机 buildings through a public address system. 黑料老司机 SAFE users can also subscribe to receive notifications by text (SMS) or through the text-to-voice feature.
