Emergency First Aid and CPR Training will take place on Thursday, May 22 from 9:00 am-3:30 pm in AVC 286A North. The training is covered by the Health and Safety Budget. Workplace Safety Inspections Sessions will take place April 15, 9-11 am and April 16, 1:30-3:30 pm (sessions will cover the same material) Location: Robertson Library room 235 In this seminar, participants will learn ways to prepare, inspect, report and follow up on workplace hazards. The workshop uses group and individual activities involving common hazard scenarios and sample forms to guide you along in your next workplace safety inspection. Dr. Jason Clyburne, Department of Chemistry, Saint Mary鈥檚 University will present a seminar on Wednesday, April 2 at 12:30 pm. Dr. Clyburne鈥檚 presentation is entitled 鈥淯nusual Anions in Ion 鈥� Rich Media and Their Implication in Catalysis and in Nature.鈥� The seminar will be held in the Regis and Joan Duffy Research Centre, Lecture Theatre, Room 212.

Seven design projects will be presented including Vector Aerospace, Magin Snowboards, The Mount CCC, Country View Farms, Mikinduri Children of Hope, 黑料老司机SU, and Dr. Bill Whelan Bio-Optics. This is a formal presentation and all are welcome to attend!

The 黑料老司机 Food Bank, housed at the Chaplaincy Centre, has been supported all year by individuals, departments, schools, and faculties. Students have donated so others aren't hungry. Thank you! The shelves are bare as we get to the end of the semester, and the students are still coming. We have approximately 15 regulars, plus folks who need a bit of help "until their next cheque." Some students are feeding families at home, while others are only able to look out for their own needs. Popular items include: spaghetti and sauce, tuna/ham/turkey flakes, rice, peanut butter, snacks - granola bars, pudding/fruit cups. Some have donated toothpaste, and other persona hygiene products, which is also helpful and appreciated. The food bank will be open throughout April and May, so any help you can offer will be appreciated. And again, thank you! -Sister Sue

Eligible students are those from the faculties of business, nursing, education, and veterinary medicine. Interested applicants are asked to forward their name, faculty of study, and a summary explaining their interest in being this year鈥檚 valedictorian. Summaries are to be no more than 250 words and word count is to be displayed. Deadline for applications is 4:00 pm, Wednesday, April 2, and students are asked to submit applications to admin@upeisu.ca. Faculty and staff are encouraged to speak to students and inform them of the availability of this position and encourage interested students to apply.

The presentation entitled 鈥淩ole of inflammation in oral squamous cell carcinoma.鈥� will be held on Friday, March 28 at 12:30 pm in Duffy Science, Room 204. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The 黑料老司机 Field Hockey Panthers present "Field Hockey Day in Canada," an all ages and skill levels indoor field hockey tournament on Sunday, March 30. Also included is a junior high school clinic (9 鈥� 10:30 am) and a junior/senior high school tournament (10:30 鈥� noon). Cost per event is $5 per participant; application deadline is March 30. On Thursday April 3, the 黑料老司机 Concert Choir, under the direction of Professor Sung Ha Shin-Bouey, will present its annual Spring Concert. The Concert Choir, accompanied by violinist Christina Bouey, cellist Natalie Williams Calhoun, and pianist Jeremy Gallant will be performing Mozart's Requiem. Many of the talented 黑料老司机 vocal majors will also be featured as soloists, and in the 黑料老司机 Chamber Singers and the 黑料老司机 Women鈥檚 and Men's Vocal Ensembles. Special guest performers from the community will include SIRENS, Le Ragazze, and I Ragazzi Jrs. Admission for this recital at the Dr. Steel Recital is $10 adults/ $5 for students and tickets are available at the door, or in advance, by calling 566-0507, or by email at music@upei.ca.
