The campus community is reminded that when requesting rooms for events, you must allow enough time before and after your event for any setup (normally 2 hours) and reset (normally 1 hour). If you are unsure of how much time to allow, please provide some details of your requirements the additional comments field of the , and we we can provide you with an estimate. Note: You will still have to submit a work order for the event setup, (with diagram if we are moving furniture, podium, chairs, tables, etc), and for the room reset.

The Global Village Gala brings together 黑料老司机 students from various ethno-cultural groups in an effort to build a more comprehensive working model of the area's cultural mosaic. The event will be an opportunity to bring together domestic and international students to collaborate, promote, explore, and learn about each others cultural backgrounds in an interactive and engaging way. The Global Village and Gala will also be an opportunity to celebrate and have fun. Activities include: talent show, cultural presentations, games, raffle prizes, fashion show, musical performances and dance.

Julia Deans is the CEO of Futurpreneur Canada (formerly the Canadian Youth Business Foundation), the only national non-profit organization providing financing, mentoring and support tools to aspiring business owners aged 18-39. Futurpreneur Canada and its 2700 volunteer mentors and other partners have helped almost 9,000 young people launch start-ups in Canada. Julia joined Futurpreneur Canada in January 2013 with a track record of success in the corporate, entrepreneurial, non-profit and public sectors. She started her career as a lawyer, practicing law with Torys LLP in Toronto and Hong Kong before creating a successful legal recruitment business in Singapore.

Janet MacIntyre will defend her PhD dissertation Thursday, March 10 at 11:30am. It will now take place in Memorial Hall, room 417. Her dissertation is entitled 鈥淣ewly-Graduated Baccalaureate Registered Nurses, the 21st Century Health Care Environment and Mapping the Landscape for Curricular Change鈥 All are welcome to attend.

This will be a 3 hour training session with handouts, based on CCAC Recommended Syllabus (exam included).                                                                                                                       

The Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) requires that all personnel involved with the use of animals in research, teaching, testing and service take this course.  (A refresher course is required every 5 years.)

Sam Sweet and Leon Liang, MSc students will each present a seminar on  Wednesday, March 09, 2016 at 12:30 pm. Sam's presentation is entitled 鈥淭he Development and Optimization of Fluorescence-Based Trace Analysis Methods for Agrichemicals in PEI Waters鈥 and Leon's presentation is entitled 鈥淣atural Product Discovery through Bacterial Chemical Communication鈥. The seminar will be held in the Regis and Joan Duffy Research Centre, Lecture Theatre, Room 212.

This session provides a full body strength and flexibility workout which tones the body. Long stretches will melt away stress and create a feeling of deep relaxation.

This is an opportunity for AVC and Pre-Vet students to connect with professors on a more personal level as they reminisce about challenges in vet school and the people who helped them throughout the program.

Come join 黑料老司机's Psychology Society in the watching of the Hollywood movie Silver Linings Playbook, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert DiNero, with a short discussion afterwards! Snacks will be provided. Please bring comfy clothes and friends.

The School of Nursing would like to invite the University community to a research presentation which will be given by Prof. Patrice Drake, BSc, RN, MN, candidate for a tenure track position in Nursing.  Prof. Patrice Drake will present "Coming together:  Discovering the narrative of nurses providing care for women experiencing miscarriage".  The presentation will take place on Friday, March 11 from 1:40-2:20 in Room 213, Main Building.          

Respiratory Fit Testing is required annually for anyone who uses a respirator in order to ensure a proper fit. Please book a 30-minute time slot through Angela Deighan in Research Services for both sessions, either by email at adeighan@upei.ca or by phone (902) 628-4308.

Individuals must take their respirator or purchase one for the fit testing. As per the CSA Standard, faces must be clean shaven in order to have a respiratory fit test. Please note that fit testing and respiratory supplies are departmental costs.

The 黑料老司机 community is invited to come celebrate with us as we kick off the 2016 黑料老司机 Mental Health Week. We'll announce new student scholarships and feature our guest speaker, men鈥檚 soccer coach, Lewis Page. Encouraged by the overwhelming positive support after sharing his story with the Bell Let鈥檚 Talk campaign, Lewis will continue to share his story with us, focusing on the relationships that have mattered most in his life. Snacks and refreshments will be served.

Have you ever worried about a friend and wondered how you could be of help to them? This session will explore how you can help your friend, while taking care of yourself too. Refreshments and snacks will be provided by PASS.

Ms. Garland Baird will present "Home Care Case Managers' Integrated Care of Older Adults with Multiple Chronic Conditions: An Institutional Ethnography". The presentation will take place on Friday, March 4 from 1:40-2:20 pm in Room 213, SDU Main Building.

Robertson Library and the 黑料老司机 English Society will be holding a used book sale on Friday, March 4, noon - 6 pm and Saturday, March 5, 10 am - 3 pm in Room 302/303 (Upper Level) of the Robertson Library. 

Proceeds from the book sale help support the 黑料老司机 English Society and the Library's collection.

Tickets will be available for a chance to win signed copies of works by local 黑料老司机 authors: Deirdre Kessler, Richard Lemm, Brent MacLaine, and Shannon Murray. Money raised from the draw will go to the PEI Literacy Alliance.
