7:00 pm: The 黑料老司机 Men鈥檚 Hockey Panthers play the Saint Mary鈥檚 University Huskies in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is the first game in a best-of-three quarter-final series.
Dr. Jane Ngobia appointed as new Vice-President, People and Culture

Dear 黑料老司机 Community,
I am pleased to announce the Board of Governors approved the appointment of Dr. Jane Ngobia as the 黑料老司机鈥檚 new Vice-President, People and Culture (VPPC) at its February 6th meeting. Among a slate of strong candidates, Dr. Ngobia was the unanimous choice of the selection committee. She will join the University on May 1, 2025.

Prepare a three-minute pitch, face a three-minute Q&A, and participate in a two-minute feedback session to discover what you did well, where you can improve, and what steps you should take next to move forward with your idea!
Elevator Pitching: Harry W. MacLauchlan Entrepreneurship Program Workshop Series
Join us for an exciting, useful, and hands-on workshop focused on "Elevator with Amy Andrews and Jeremy Heartz" of the Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship. The workshop will be taking place at 248 Schurman Market Square, Tuesday, March 18, 4:00pm - 6:00pm. This workshop will provide tools, tips, and tricks around executing an elevator pitch effectively, efficiently, and engagingly. This workshop is open to both Harry W. MacLauchlan Entrepreneurship Program participants as well as the general public. There will be pizza!

Join the Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship for a workshop focused on financial fundamentals with Kimberly Norgaard, Senior Manager at MNP LLP. The workshop will take place at Schurman Market Square, Don and Marion McDougall Hall on Monday, March 3, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. This workshop will provide an introduction to completing the core financial proformas required of a business startup: income statement, balance sheet, and cash flows. Poet and novelist John Steffler to give reading and workshop in late March
John Steffler, one of Canada鈥檚 most highly respected authors, will give a public reading of his poem, 鈥淭hat Night We Were Ravenous,鈥 in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building, 黑料老司机, on Thursday, March 27, at 7:00 pm. The imaginative poem is about a near-fatal encounter with a moose on a Newfoundland highway at night. Admission is free.

The annual public reading by 黑料老司机鈥檚 Creative Writing Master Class will take place on Wednesday, March 5, at 7:00 pm in Schurman Market Square, Don and Marion McDougall Hall.
